Volunteer Services
Volunteers are available to help Mayne Islanders of all ages
- driving you to appointments, for groceries or social outings on and off the island
- visiting to play cards, read or chat
- assisting you around your home or in your garden
- helping you make appointments or advocating on your behalf
- picking up books from the library
- giving you a daily phone call
- giving a few hours of respite time for caregivers during the day
- bringing people home from the hospital
- taking eyeglasses in for repair
- loading and unloading vehicles
- assisting with emergency situations, both personal and household
- make contact with elders during power outages
Margaret delivers Meals on Wheels
We can also:
- set you up with Meals on Wheels up to three times a week
- make available a trained volunteer who can prepare your income tax online at no cost if you qualify for Canada Revenue Agency low income status
- provide information about other day-to-day and emergency services that are available to islanders
