Join us each Wednesday at 1:00pm at the Community Centre.
Creative Cafe is more than just craft time; it’s a gathering place. We like to call it a “Creative take on a Cafe”. It’s a vibrant community hub where people come together to express themselves, learn new skills, and forge meaningful connections. Open to all members of the community, Creative Cafe offers a variety of activities that inspire creativity, promote well-being, and foster a sense of belonging.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just looking for a way to spend a few joyful hours, Creative Cafe has something for everyone. Our activities include:
– Arts & Crafts: Explore your artistic side with our hands-on projects, ranging from painting to pottery. No experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm!
– Book Nook: Check out the specially curated books available to borrow or chat with our Book Nook Volunteer Kim about anything literary! Don’t see anything you’d like this time? Let Kim know, and she’ll be sure to find something interesting for you the next week.
– Community Gardening: Get your hands dirty in our community garden, where you can learn about sustainable gardening practices while contributing to the local food supply.
– Games & Puzzles: Join others for a friendly game of cards, board games, or work together on a challenging puzzle. It’s all about fun and connection.
– Coffee & Conversations: Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while catching up with friends or meeting new people. Creative Cafe is a place where everyone’s story is valued.
Dementia-Friendly and Caregiver Support:
Creative Cafe is a dementia-friendly space, designed to be welcoming and inclusive for individuals living with dementia. Our activities are thoughtfully planned to be engaging and accessible, providing a safe and supportive environment for everyone. For caregivers, Creative Cafe offers much-needed respite, allowing them time to relax, recharge, or connect with others. Caregivers are welcome to participate in Creative Cafe or step away for a couple hours – we have a team of volunteers willing to spend time one-on-one with individuals.
Why It Matters:
Creative Cafe plays a vital role in combating social isolation, particularly for seniors and those who may not have many opportunities to engage with others. By providing a welcoming space for creative expression and social interaction, we help build a stronger, more connected community.
