Meals on Wheels
Meals for those who need a little extra support
Meals on Wheels (MOW) is a vital service provided to members of our community who face challenges in preparing meals for themselves. Whether due to mobility issues, recovery from surgery or illness, long-term health conditions, or the responsibility of being a primary caregiver, MOW ensures that nutritious meals are accessible to those in need.

Who We Serve:
MOW is available to:
– Those aging in place who need support.
– Individuals recovering from surgery or illness.
– Those with mobility, long-term or short-term health issues that make meal preparation difficult.
– Individuals returning from care and need short-term support while healing.
– Older Adults who financially struggle with food costs.
Menu:
Our menu is seasonally inspired and based on the availability of local ingredients and donations from our farm supporters. While we cannot provide a menu ahead of time, rest assured that our kitchen team is dedicated to accommodating most allergies and dietary requests. Please note that meals are not selectable each week, but we strive to offer a variety of fresh and frozen meals to keep things interesting.
Delivery & Pick-Up:
Meals are prepared fresh weekly and are available for pick-up or delivery every Wednesday afternoon. Each client receives three meals per week, ensuring consistent access to nutritious food.
How to Qualify:
To qualify for Meals on Wheels, individuals can self-refer by calling (250) 213-6191 or emailing us at info@mials.org. Health professionals and family members may also refer someone, but all orders require the client’s verbal consent directly to MIALS. Our coordinator will collect necessary information, such as the client’s name, phone number, address, and any food requirements, to tailor the service to their needs.
Pricing:
Each meal is priced at $7.00. Clients can choose to pay upon receiving their meals (1-3 meals per week) or opt for monthly billing. We offer some flexibility, with limited availability for those needing up to 5 meals per week. MIALS is committed to meeting the needs of those with gluten-free, vegetarian, and other dietary restrictions.
